These terms explain account eligibility, respectful participation, and how Launchpad may use the content you choose to share.
Who runs this site
Launchpad is a student-run, Purdue-recognized club based in Indiana, United States. In these terms, “Launchpad,” “we,” and “us” mean the club operating this website and its member portal. Questions about these terms can be sent to launchpadpurdue@gmail.com.
These terms concern Launchpad's website and portal. They do not make Purdue University a party to an agreement with you or replace applicable university policies.
Accounts and eligibility
Member accounts are for invited Launchpad participants. When activating or continuing an account, you must accept the current terms. Public information and the contact and reporting pages remain available without a member account.
Use accurate information, keep your password and invitation or recovery links private, and use only your own account. Tell us if someone else may have accessed it. An invitation or application does not guarantee admission, a particular mentor, or continued participation.
You may stop using the portal at any time and ask us to close your account using the contact address above. The Privacy notice explains how records are handled.
Respectful and lawful use
Use the site for club participation and related learning. Do not:
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, discriminate against, or expose someone's private information.
- Upload intimate images, sexual exploitation material, or content that infringes someone's copyright, privacy, or other rights. Intimate images made or altered with AI are also prohibited.
- Bypass access controls, share private member content outside its intended audience without permission, spread malicious software, or disrupt the service.
- Submit false mission evidence, manipulate scores, or use someone else's account.
Mission suggestions do not authorize trespassing, unsafe activity, or violations of university rules. Use your judgment, obtain any needed permission, and skip an activity that is unsafe or unsuitable.
Photos and other contributions
You keep the rights you hold in your photos, comments, project work, and other contributions. Only submit material you own or are authorized to share. Before uploading a photo, obtain permission from identifiable people pictured for its use in Launchpad's member portal and any audience you choose.
By submitting material, you give Launchpad a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, resize, process, and display it as needed to operate and moderate the club features you use. This includes using hosting providers to perform those tasks. It does not transfer ownership or authorize selling your work.
Approved mission posts shared to the gallery can be seen by other authorized members and administrators. Team portraits and roster information may also be visible to other authorized members. Uploading to the portal does not give us permission to use your photo in public advertising or on the public homepage. We seek separate permission for that use.
The permission ends when the content is deleted from active use, except for necessary legal or security retention and copies awaiting backup expiry. Other people may already have saved material they were allowed to see. Contact us to request removal or report misuse through the content reporting process.
Site content and third-party rights
Launchpad and its contributors retain their rights in original site content. Photographs, illustrations, fonts, software, project work, and logos may have other owners and separate licenses. A copyright notice on this site does not transfer those rights.
You may browse the site and use its features for their intended purpose. Ask the relevant rights holder before reusing material beyond permission already granted by a license or by law. Purdue and sponsor names and marks remain the property of their owners. Their appearance does not give visitors a license to use them or imply endorsement of every member contribution.
Credits and font licenses
Site typography includes these fonts under the SIL Open Font License. Their copyright and license notices are available here:
Garet Book and Garet Heavy are by Type Forward. See the Garet source and permission notice. The testimonial paper effect adapts Sticky Note by vasp. Those materials retain their separate rights and license terms.
Moderation and account access
We may review submissions, correct scores, remove content, or restrict an account when needed to enforce these terms, protect people or the service, or comply with law. Repeated copyright infringement or serious misuse may result in loss of access. We may act immediately when a safety or security issue requires it.
You can ask us to review a moderation or access decision by emailing launchpadpurdue@gmail.com with the affected account or content and an explanation. We will consider relevant information and explain our decision where doing so is lawful and safe.
Availability and outside services
This is a student club service. Features, mission catalogs, and availability can change, and errors or outages can occur. Keep your own copy of work you need. We do not guarantee a particular academic, career, competition, or project outcome.
Links to student projects, social networks, and other websites lead to services with their own terms and privacy practices. You decide whether to use them. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and questions
The date at the top identifies this version. We will post changes here and ask account holders to accept a new version before continuing to use member features when those terms change. Changes do not retroactively expand permission to use content you already submitted.
These terms are governed by Indiana law and applicable United States federal law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to apply. Contact launchpadpurdue@gmail.com about an issue or disagreement. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to seek help from a court or public authority.
